Several areas of CIDEM are working in the field of innovative products:
The division of Experimental Neuropharmacology works on the design and preclinical evaluation of new drug candidates (first in class or best in class) for the treatment of different neurological diseases, including: Cerebral Ischemia, Parkinson’s disease, depression, anxiety and different types of dementia.
The division of Experimental Oncology and Toxicology works on the search for molecules, approaches and procedures antineoplastic that constitute new therapeutic alternatives for cancer patients.
The division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology focuses on the therapeutic areas of antibacterials, antivirals, and immunomodulators facing multidrug-resistant pathogens. We mainly identify and evaluate bioactive peptides from natural sources or the in-silico design of chimeric structures with similar functions. We have experience and dedicated staff in the following areas of science: Bioinformatics, molecular modeling, and dynamics; in vitro/in vivo preclinical evaluation; and a newly created advanced technology group for biomolecules.
The Development Area works on the research and development of innovative drugs with high added value, with the formulation of combinations at fixed doses of new and/or known products; indicated for the treatment of different diseases, which increase the therapeutic arsenal of our country and improve the quality of life of treated patients.
